Birth of Sir M. Visvesvaraya (Engineers' Day)
Sir M. Visvesvaraya designed the Krishna Raja Sagara dam, the automatic floodgates system at Khadakwasla, and modernized Mysore state as its Diwan. 15 September is celebrated across India as Engineers' Day.
